What is a Virtual Assistant?

A Virtual Assistant is an independent entrepreneur providing administrative, business support that is both creative and/or technical in a virtual environment. A professional Virtual Assistant assists clients in their area of expertise from their own office on a contractual basis. A Virtual Assistant is not an employee of your company, but in fact are small business owners themselves.

Virtual Assistants pride themselves on becoming a big part of your company and their goal is to help your business succeed. The relationship that develops between you and your personal Virtual Assistant will allow you to maintain close contact with your customer base and they work with you and your clients to help alleviate tasks that you do not have time to accomplish allowing you to free up time to concentrate on generating revenue and building your business.

There are a variety of different ways that you and your Virtual Assistant will keep the communication lines open. This is simply accomplished by using all or some of the following methods: phone, fax, email, online digital filing cabinet, diskette transfer, CD ROM transfer, transcription methods, overnight mail, instant messaging or if the distance is within a reasonable distance communications can also be accomplished by weekly meetings, or daily pickup, but in general most of this is accomplished electronically. Virtual Assistants are small business owners who, like any other business owner, define their success by customer satisfaction. The relationship between a Virtual Assistant and the client are basically two business owners who mutually benefit from a long-term professional relationship.
